2nd Blog Post

I have learned a lot during the first two classes. One thing I learned in Class 1 is that you can filter images by color. If you're looking for a table or a graph they would most commonly be found under black and white. Or if you were looking for something green, you could click green and it would filter all the images that you searched to be the color green. I have applied this in school already. I needed to find a picture of the Civil War for History Class and so I pressed black and white because it was supposed to be a picture from 1800's. Filtering the color for the images helped a lot in finding a good picture for my Assignment in History Class.
Another thing I learned in Class 1 is how to word your queries. I now understand that you should type something short, on topic and to the point. This makes the search a lot quicker and it makes it easier to find what you're looking for. I have been trying to change the way I type things in to a search box so that I can work more efficiently.

In Class 2 I learned what a  snippet is. A snippet is a summary extraction containing words that you searched for. This snippet is located below the URL and title in black. This has made it easier to find websites that are more like ones I'm looking for so that I don't have to click on them and find out that it wasn't helpful for what I'm doing.
Also in Class 2  I learned about the roll over preview tool. This can also help finding a website that would be helpful for what I'm looking for. I now have a better understanding of having the options of different media so that you can have a variety of different sources whether it's videos, images or even shopping. In Conclusion, I have learned a lot in these firs two classes.

1st Blog Post

Basketball means a lot to me. I still remember the first time I saw someone play basketball. I was eight when my God father, Uncle John, took me to a court in Boston, which is now and forever will be my favorite court I will ever play on. My uncle is also a huge basketball fanatic, not as big as I am of course. We watched people on the court for hours. Running up and down the court, shooting and jumping and competing like Champions. From that point on I knew what I wanted to do with my life; I wanted to be a basketball player.

Since I was eight years old, basketball has been a part of me. I am a very determined person. I want to make that eight year old, who fell in love with the game years ago, proud. I know if I gave up on the one thing that little girl was so passionate about she would be devastated. She's the reason I work my hardest each and every day. She's the reason I wake up at 4:30 in the morning and go to the gym before school just to get extra shots up. She's the reason why even through pain I persevere and don't quit. She's the reason why I love basketball so much, so I just want to thank her for the best gift in my life by doing my very best each and every day.
